Skydive DeLand has been training skydivers for fourteen years. Everyone from first-time jumpers to international champions have trained in DeLand. Visitors to the area will appreciate the beauty of DeLand from this unique bird’s eye perspective. After just 30 minutes of ground training, first timers will be ready for a jump of about 13,500 feet. The tandem method, first developed in DeLand, allows novice jumpers to experience the thrill of skydiving while safely harnessed to an instructor under a parachute specially built for two. Ron Reagan, Jr. and actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are among the celebrities who have made jumps at Skydive DeLand. Cruise and Kidman were so hooked by the experience they went on to complete the accelerated freefall training program and became licensed skydivers.
Averaging more than 85,000 jumps each year, Skydive DeLand is the most active drop zone in the world. In fact, the world’s best skydivers come to DeLand to get better. National teams from Norway, Sweden, France, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Columbia, Iceland, Russia, Holland, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and the United States have all trained in DeLand. Over the years, Skydive DeLand has received many distinctions and awards including the world’s largest formation, women’s large formation, and national and world champion 4- and 10-way teams.
For the vacation experience of a lifetime, spend some time in the skies over DeLand, where the wild blue yonder is a little bluer and a lot wilder.
