Down this way experience more of a South Florida than Central Florida from the lush, tropical greenery draping the neighborhoods. Find lot of low-rise condominiums, strip malls and grocery stores around the corner into Melbourne Beach. Ocean Park is a popular spot for surfcasting and to get an advice on bringing the big one at the campy little bait shop. Better option than Ocean Park is the Spessard Holland Park with its brown sloping sandy beaches as far as lounging seaside is concerned. Here the facilities include volleyball courts, outdoor showers, boardwalk pavilions and a lovely ocean view.
Don't forget to look out for the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge an important nesting site for Loggerhead Turtles in the Western Hemisphere.
