Canaveral National Seashore is a barrier island studded with
dunes, hammocks, lagoons, salt marshes and pine flatlands.
The beach stretches for a glorious 25 miles along the Space
Coast is one of Florida's last and largest stretches of pristine,
undeveloped beachfront. This place is a true paradise assuring
wildlife management as well as public recreation.
Visit this place during the early morning and late afternoon
hours, which is the best time for bird watching. The park
is home to 310 species of birds, including several rare species
and to find most of them look in shallow marshes along the
border between the water and upland areas. To reach most of
the Titusville's untouched beaches take a walk a ways down
the shore. Beautiful Apollo and Playalinda beaches can be
accessed from public parking lots, but it's worth a wander
down to remote Klondike Beach.
